About PROCON Online Forum 2021

The flap of a butterfly wing may shift the course of history…

What sort of wave of revolution will be brought on us by the more perceptible “ripples” caused by the events of 2020? Will the economy survive? Will your company endure?

The mentioned effect, a part of chaos theory – works both ways. Regardless of the pandemic affecting our world, we may not predict the future of events with enough accuracy to prepare ahead.

Still, we could and should do all we can to secure the future of our organizations. Is that really much different from the role procurement had in the pre-covid era?

The recent change of date (new year) is, obviously, just a conventional trace of the passage of time. We will not enter the new year with a new account, reset deadlines, and fresh supply chains waiting for us to develop and nurture from scratch.

However, in all the confusion around, procurement gained in the eyes of stakeholders. Well deserved spot at THE table is ours. We must highlight what procurement is worth, realign the goals with further strategy adjustments caused by COVID19, and evoke the potential veiled in everyday procurement operations. RFIs sent, invoices processed, meetings attended and emails read – seemingly insignificant activities increasingly accelerated by progressively autonomous technologies, may become the key to the secure & sustainable future of your organization.

Special Guest: Judit Polgár

Hungarian Chess Great Master, the best female chess player of all time

(born 23 July 1976) is a Hungarian chess player. She is generally considered the strongest female chess player of all time.[1] In 1991, Polgár achieved the title of Grandmaster at the age of 15 years and 4 months, at the time the youngest to have done so, breaking the record previously held by former World Champion Bobby Fischer. She was the youngest player ever to break into the FIDE top 100 players rating list, ranking No. 55 in the January 1989 rating list, at the age of 12.[2] She is the only woman to be a serious candidate for the World Chess Championship, in which she participated in 2005; she had previously participated in large, 100+ player knockout tournaments for the world championship. She is the first, and to date only, woman to have surpassed 2700 Elo, reaching a career peak rating of 2735 and peak world ranking of No. 8 in 2005. She is the only woman to be ranked in the top ten of all chess players, first reaching that ranking in 1996. She was the No. 1 rated woman in the world from January 1989 until her retirement on 13 August 2014.
